1970s Laphroaig 10 YO 43% abv 3cl spanish winesThis is un opened and appears to have a 3cl fill Laphroaig 10 yo (43%, short label, mid 1970s) To true Laphroaig aficionados, Colour: Gold. Nose: Epitomical old Islayer Mouth: Winning combo of citrus fruits and peat here. Kumquats, cough syrup, mastic, kippers (a lot of salt), salted buttered fudge, lemon liqueur, smoked tea, pine resin Finish: Rather long, very complex, ending up on something like salted liquorice and caramel sweets. Comments:
Very interesting differences between nose and palate – great single malt in any case
Yet it’s very balanced… It really invades your mouth and coats it with lots of caramel
