The pendant is carved entirely out of a natural icy jadeite that looks black and opaque but when light shines behind it, it is semi translucent with Wuji marbling. Light can travel through it, despite the unusual thickness of the jadeite. Wuji refers to black marbling found in natural jadeite. It is NOT mineral inclusion. It is often compared to Chinese traditional
