Clevedon Beach Bead Africa

Clevedon Beach Bead AfricaInspired by the beach and iconic pier at Clevedon in Somerset. We chose this lovely opaque green for the core of this bead to represent the colour of Clevedon Pier. This core is then encased in clear glass and wrapped with a thin stringer of black glass that has been heated until it splits creating a unique pattern that looks like the iron work of the pier structure.

It is also popular for snorkelling and diving as well as a good spot for whale watching

Inspired by South Uist's shimmering white sand beaches and rich purple hues of the heather uplands

before fastening the end through the button holes

Not only emphasising the dramatic crashing waves but also the beautiful swirling colours of the sea

including seals

When we melt these rods around a madre

threaded the beads and recycled silver tubes onto it and finished each one with our 'Nalu' tag to create colourful 'springy' bangles

This is then encased in a transparent blue glass before the surface is decorated with a meandering stringer of silver to one side of the bead representing the cliffs formed by glacial moraines
