This mask has been carved from red cedar, painted in red, green, grey, white, and black acrylic, and accented with cedar bark. The Sea Eagle, or Kwigwis, is a supernatural being from Kwakwaka'wakw mythology, serving as the Eagle's counterpart in the Undersea Kingdom. Those who encountered Kwigwis were considered blessed by the experience.
