Acer palmatum 'Kamagata' Size:3 GAL SIZE 3-4 YEAR OLD TREES FULL AND BRANCHED 36" - 42" tallBecause it has an open, yet bushy habit, this unique Japanese maple resembles a 'miniature' tree. It will grow to be 6 ft tall and perhaps 3 4 feet across. Many colors decorate this tree through the seasons, starting with a lime green and red accents in the spring. Then in summer the leaves shade to bright lime green, followed by yellow and orange in the fall, and finally a rich fiery red in fall. Sun or part shade. Hardy to zone 5. Drought tolerant.

The foliage is quite good on this one

but is not planted as much as it should be

It will even withstand a hard frost when in full flower

Developed in New Zealand

and performs beautifully in containers or mass plantings where its color can be fully appreciated
