Almondine Antique Diamond Ring paveThis antique, almond shaped diamond pav ring is a stunning, century old jewel and is one of our favorite ring styles. This elliptical shaped crown was popular in rings made towards the end of the Victorian era through the Art Deco period, in other words spanning the decades between 1880 1930. This means there is five times more gold than the more commonly seen 'Gold-Filled'

The gold surface is in overall good condition with some faint wear particularly to the back in a faint

we salvaged the heart at the top of the pin and used the stick part of the pin itself to form the ring band
The 'noose' knot used is exaggeratedly long and is both part of the body of the necklace and the clasp: The necklace is opened and closed on one side by sliding a vintage circa 1940's brass anchor and natural agate druzy orb through the loop
Settings and galleries were designed most often in elegant combinations of odd numbers--featured alone
The other interesting characteristic is the maker's mark which clearly reads 'Bravingtons'
The design is heavily inspired by an Art Deco ring that we came across which was made in aluminum and had only a few of the original glass stones left in it
